A new feature for Scantrust clients selling on the Amazon Marketplace

Scantrust has announced that its clients using codes generated by the Scantrust enterprise QR code platform can now take advantage of interoperability with Amazon’s Transparency program. Amazon Transparency is a product serialization service that prevents inauthentic or incorrect versions of products from reaching customers through the use of unique serialized codes, operating in partnership with brands to verify the authenticity of items sold in Amazon’s stores. When Scantrust clients choose to activate Amazon Transparency on their products, the products will be verified at both listing and fulfillment to prevent counterfeit and defective products from reaching Amazon customers.

Skullcandy, the Park City, Utah-based audio hardware company, and Dynamic Color, a provider of a wide range of tattoo and art supplies, are among the pioneers already leveraging Scantrust interoperability with Transparency by Amazon. For Scantrust clients selling on the Amazon Marketplace, giving their own customers a way to verify product authenticity is now easier than ever.

The Amazon Transparency program continues to evolve, benefiting an increasing number of companies, including through its collaboration with Scantrust. This is how Scantrust interoperability with Transparency by Amazon works:

  1. Amazon codes and verification: Products intended for sale on the Amazon Marketplace are registered to generate unique verification codes. It’s important to keep in mind that even for inventory that will not be sold on the Amazon marketplace, all product codes are shared with Amazon. These codes are synchronized with a database, enabling Amazon Transparency to verify codes for authenticity and accuracy.
  2. Additional customer authentication: Verified items shipped to customers can be scanned, post-delivery, for instant confirmation of product authenticity, based on enrollment status.

Current and future Scantrust clients can seamlessly integrate Amazon Transparency product enrollment without disrupting their existing printing or packaging workflows. The process is designed to be user-friendly, requiring only the decision to participate and activate the functionality with Scantrust helping companies take care of the rest.
